Street Style

Hey again! So lately I've been completely obsessed with seeing different celebrities' street style and I feel like I take a lot of inspiration from them for my day to day style. One of my absolute favourite style inspirations has to be Kendall Jenner. It's probably because she's just effortlessly stunning but she seems to just pull of casual chic so perfectly. I love how her clothes is always quite basic but still stylish so you don't have to try too hard but you still look put together. I love looking on Pinterest and Instagram at her day to day casual outfits and thought I would share a few of my favourites so that maybe you could gain some inspiration from them too.
Let me know what you think of posts like these and I might do different celebrities or ways you can recreate her looks! See ya soon, Laura x PS. Follow me on bloglovin would really appreciate it and will follow everyone back!!

10 things I learned in 2015

2015 has been a year of ups and downs but I feel like I learnt a lot in 2015 and am not the person I was this time last year. I think this post is mainly for me to look back on in a few years and remind myself of a few important things I learnt in the year I turned 16, climbed a mountain, went to Paris and went on a slightly dodgy road trip around Ireland.

So heres 10 things I learned in 2015:

1). Be adventurous. Try new things. Doing the same thing every day gets boring and trying something new isn't going to kill you (unless you decide it would be a good idea to stay in a dodgy hostel and sleep wrapped in a blanket with a t-shirt wrapped around the pillow and a chair against the door...that one wasn't the best idea...)

2). Getting your eyebrows threaded is better than getting them waxed.

3). Worrying does not change anything. You can stay up all night shaking and stressing about things but it will not effect what happens the next day it will just make you more exhausted and make whatever it is you're worrying about harder. Just remember the sun has to set so whatever it is your worried about you will get through it and you will be back in your bed saying 'I did it' in no time.

4). Not everything needs a reaction. You can walk away from something that is bothering you because it isn't your issue what someone thinks of you, thats something they have to deal with. If you let someone annoy you then it starts to effect you. So walk away..much easier.

5). Not everybody in your life is a positive thing. So let go of the bad and work to hold onto the good.

6). High-end makeup isn't always the better makeup. But sometimes it is so instead of buying three of that same lipstick that you topped up about 35 times a day just spend a bit more money on the high-end lipstick...

7).  Life is all about perspective. If you are positive and try your best to be happy and optimistic, everything will be much easier, trust me.

8). The things that are really bothering you now probably won't even be a thought in your mind in a couple of years maybe even months so don't stress about them too much.

9). Be present. Technology isn't really going to be there for you at the end of the day so spend more time offline. Family is the most important thing and being fully present with them is so much better than being fully concentrated on whatever is happening on instagram. People have souls that will eventually leave, iPhones don't.

10). Basically just try always to be a better person. Be more positive. Say yes to more. Take more chances. Try new things. Do things that your future self will thank you for.

Monday Inspiration

Autumn and the cold and the dark evenings aren't really my thing. So I've been feeling a bit de-motivated lately so I've gathered together all the bits of fashion inspiration and motivation I need to get me going again. If you're the same and you're feeling the winter slump, I hope this helps.

Autumn Makeup

Im not a huge fan of autumn, I'm definitely a summer girl (hint in the blog title) but I am a huge fan of autumn makeup! I love the way you can get away with wearing slightly heavier makeup and darker colours. Im also a huge fan of warm contours during autumn and dark lips so I thought I would show you today what I use on my face during autumn.

1). Mac Studio Fix

This is a slightly heavier foundation than my usual foundation, as you may know I love this during autumn (fave foundations post)

2). Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This is a staple for me all year round. Its probably my favourite makeup thing I own. Its especially good in the Autumn as it hides those back to school/college under eye bags...

3). Rimmel Stay Matte

I love this. I love this. I love this. It basically does exactly what it says on the tin..makes your face stay matte.

4). Collection Bronze Glow

I love this for warming up your face and bringing a bit of colour to your otherwise winter pale face, well mine anyways.

5). Sleek Contour Kit

I put this in my July Favourites and I still love it now. I especially love contouring at the moment, I love how its almost like 2 minute plastic surgery. It really has the power to change your whole face. The highlighter is also amazing to bring a little shimmer and colour.

6). Naked 2

My Naked 2 palette gets a lot of use during the autumn. Im a big lover of coppery browny colours in the autumn and this palette is perfect for that. A mix of copper, tease and ydk is basically my eye makeup for all of autumn. I also use tease and an angle brush to fill in my eyebrows.

7). Benefit Roller Lash

This was also in my July Favourites and is still a must in my makeup routine. I can't see it ever not being my go to mascara, its perfect.

8).  MAC Velvet Teddy

This lipstick really ties this whole brown warm look together and its perfect for autumn.

Work in progress...

UPDATE: I kind of gave up with the templates I had and customised my own, its not exactly what i was imagining but I think Im happy with it. Normal blogposts will now resume<3

As you might be able to tell 'Summer and Sunsets' has gotten a makeover.
I'm trying to find a new style for my blog and try out different templates and layouts.
I do like this layout but its going to take a while to get everything up and running e.g. menus and that horrible 404 error page...
I'm going to keep the blog live so you can still read it and use it but just understand that the stuff that doesn't work now...hopefully will work soon...

So just bare with me and if your new and reading this trust me my blog isn't this unorganised all the time just for a little while because its under a bit of construction. Also I'd love to hear your opinions on the new layout or if you have any suggestions or ideas on what can be improved!<3

Hopefully everything will be sorted soon and I'll be back with a much more interesting post!

My Top Three Favourite Foundations

Im currently sitting out my back garden shivering and in denial about the fact that summer is over as I'm writing this but decided to tell you my top three foundations that I obsessed over during the summer months.

I have a bit of an obsession with buying new foundations so decided to make a list of my Top Three that I've been loving lately.

 3).
My third favourite foundation is definitely 'L'Oreal True Match'. I really like this foundation but I don't love it. I find it a really good match for my skin tone which is usually difficult because I'm not pale or tan but a kind of in between. So it is good in that sense but sometimes it just doesn't blend well enough for me and no matter how long I spend blending it in, it still ends up patchy.

2)
It was definitely a close one between my second favourite and my number one top favourite as they are both amazing. But second place goes to 'MAC Studio Fix'. This is a really high coverage foundation and it is amazing for night time. I just feel it can be a bit too heavy for me on a day to day basis. I associate this foundation with winter because I definitely get more use out of this during the winter.

1)
And that is why number one goes to 'Rimmel Wake Me Up'. I am in love with this foundation. It is a kind of medium to light weight foundation and is perfect if you have dry skin like me. It is really easy to blend and gives your face a lovely glowing and bright look. I've worn this foundation everyday this summer and it has been my lifesaver. I don't know, maybe this will change in the winter when I'm more pale and feel the need for a foundation with a heavier coverage but for now this is definitely my number one favourite foundation.

Leave a comment telling me your favourite foundations, I'd love to hear x
